Good Shepherd Church is accepting applications for the position of Director of the Child Development Center. The position hires, trains, leads, supervises and supports an early childhood education staff which provides excellent, innovative and faith-based child care for up to approximately 90 infants, toddlers and pre-school children. The position manages the accounts receivable and annual budget for the department. The position is salaried and non-exempt; Monday-Friday 9-3 about 30 hours per week. Health care, life insurance, and paid time off leave benefits are available. Salary will depend on the experience and qualifications of the candidate.
A preferred applicant will meet the requirements of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services for a child care director: have at least a high school diploma, General Education Development (GED), or licensing approved equivalent; and have one year of full-time administrative or direct care experience in a child care program or education setting. However, an early education or equivalent degree or certification, such as a Child Development Associate (CDA) may substitute for six months of the required experience. The applicant must be able to understand and apply the licensing requirements of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services for child care facilities, prior experience with supervisory and/or managerial roles, and experience with curriculum development.
